The More Nourishing of Alastin's Two Moisturizers

Alastin makes two facial moisturizers. This is the more nourishing of the pair, made for skin that feels tight, flaky or uncomfortable rather than skin that simply wants a light finish. It carries TriHex Technology, the blend of active peptides and botanicals running through the Alastin range, so it works on elastin and collagen alongside hydration.

What Is Actually In It

Alastin names four ingredient groups and what each one does:

Silver Mushroom sits alongside these in Alastin's own description of the formula. The cream is fragrance-free and oil-free, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic, and Alastin states it has passed comedogenicity testing showing it does not clog pores.

Nourishing, Not Heavy

A word on the name. "Ultra Nourishing" suggests a thick night cream, and the people using it do not agree on the texture. Most reviewers here and at other Alastin stockists report it absorbing quickly and sitting well under makeup, and several call it lightweight outright. A minority find it heavy, and a few describe it as greasy. It is worth knowing both before you buy, since this is the part people react to differently.

That shapes the choice between the two. If your skin stays comfortable through the day, the Alastin Ultra Light Moisturizer is the one to take. If it feels tight by mid-afternoon, or if you tried Ultra Light and found it did not hold, this is the step up.

Who Alastin Formulates It For

All skin types: oily, combination and dry. The concerns Alastin lists for it are dry skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and sensitive skin. It is part of the Alastin Skincare range stocked at Nava Beauty.
