Aluram's Moisturizing Shampoo is a sulfate-free daily cleanser built for hair that runs dry or damaged. It's the wash step for anyone whose hair feels rough or thirsty by the time they get back in your chair.

Who this is for

Dry to normal hair, and hair that's already damaged. The formula uses coconut oil, shea butter, and aloe vera to clean without stripping out what little moisture is left. If your client's ends feel rough or straw-like within a day of washing, this is a reasonable place to start.

Who should skip it

Fine, oily hair that goes flat by midday can end up looking weighed down by a moisture-forward shampoo like this one. That client is better served by something lighter, with this one used only occasionally if at all.

If someone is dealing with a scalp condition, dandruff, or heavy product buildup, this is a moisturizing shampoo, not a clarifying one. They'll still need a clarifying wash somewhere in the rotation.

How a stylist uses it

Wet the hair thoroughly before applying so the shampoo has room to lather instead of sitting on top of dry strands. Work it through the scalp with the fingertips, then let the lather carry through to the ends rather than piling more product there. Rinse fully. Because it's formulated without sulfates, it will lather less than a drugstore shampoo. That's normal, not a sign it isn't working.

How it compares

Against a typical drugstore moisturizing shampoo: the real difference is what's left out. No sulfates and no parabens, so it's a gentler formula. You're paying for that gentleness, not a dramatically different result on day one.

Against a 2-in-1 shampoo-conditioner: a 2-in-1 is faster but does less for hair that's genuinely dry. This shampoo is built to be followed by the matching conditioner, not to replace it.

What to expect

Hair that feels softer and combs through easier after a few washes, with less of that dry, straw-like feel at the ends. It won't undo damage that's already there. No shampoo does that.

The tradeoff is the same one that comes with any sulfate-free formula: less lather, and a slower reset if a client has a lot of styling product built up. A clarifying shampoo every few weeks keeps that in check.

Price and value note

Aluram prices this shampoo from $5.99 to $56.99 depending on size, a wide enough range to let a client try it small before committing to a bottle that lasts.
